As my poor TYX struggles to work in the backdrop of a terrible oil spills that had required the closure of the beaches, I will do our blog updates :)
So far lets see what we have done!
We have secured an ID to renovate our place.
Recap:
We had gone to Singapore Expo- Reno Exhibition to scout for some ID firms and look out for some ideas and we were introduced to two ID firms.
1) Orange Cube -Gary
he asked we had heard of orange cube (apparently they are quite popular) but to the blur blur us, we had no idea who or what they were heh.
Anyway the person who served us was Gary and he showed us quite a number of places they have done up.
We did a few more time follow up with Orange Cube but their quotation had exceeded our budget.
2) Vegas - Samuel
More designer than a contractor however no follow up after our 1st meeting. Guess our budget scared him off
3) Orient Reno- Vincent
More contractor like; quite straight forward and told us more of the technical stuffs to look out for. But lost out in terms of the budget as well
4) Ideal House- Kenneth
We settled for him, simply he was the cheapest among all and we do not have a huge budget to start off so *fingers cross* hope everything looks good.
He promised us the 3D diagrams will be out before 8th june
Now, on our Personal life
1) Yingthai Palace
2) Shrek
Enough said!

Seeking some peace of mind
What can be worst?
Bad day at work and then coming back to a stressful environment at home.
Dear god, I'm seeking salvation.
Please deliver me from my misery.

Feeling like An Adult!
Too many things needs our attention! Are we able to handle the heat??
So many events have taken place over this period of time-looking for someone to do up our house have taken quite a lot of time(especially our precious weekends). We only contacted 4 IDs/contractors for quotations and space planning. And im already getting nauseated with all the words and description and of course the pricing!
But all these did not happened before i had to blast at TYX again! For being lazy but i must give him credit that he has been hardworking and gathering more information than me recently.
Suddenly, I feel like an adult-making responsible decisions (comparing quotations and pricing and then reasoning),budgeting, setting long term goals!
All my life, i did most things (other than work related) as and when i like. and most of my decisions were implusive as I would put it as spontanous.
But these few weeks, I feel like im growing up fast too fast for my liking it becomes worrying.
Is this going to be the start of my adult life?
Can i delegate it to u? heh

Private Property
Was reading the forum abt private property...
Alot of requirements but ultimately requires alot of money
even if we manage to get a good deal for landed property
the rebuilding cost also very expensive ranges from 300k to half a million
depending on the amt of work required some r speculating that in future the cost of construction will head north due to raising material costs n increase in foreign labour
china also aggressively building
Condo : probably in joo chiat D15 district cost ard 850k to 1mil fully furnished
landed: 1.2 to 1.5 mil but renovation cost another .5 mil
we must make our moolah work harder in order to achieve our dream
Target: must purchase freehold traditional thinking passing down to next generation

Laminate flooring vs homogenous tiles
Was reading this topic on renotalk and came across some interesting views.
Feedback from some users that laminate flooring is
1. Easy to maintain no need to use alot of water to clean
2. Gives a different feeling/mood
3. However it might pop up due to climate ensure there is gurantee for it
some of the forumers were raving abt pergo n supreme brand of laminate
went to pergo n it looks nice maybe darling we can laminate our master bed room different feel
was thinking abt the study room but with the rollerchairs might damage it sia
http://www.pergo.com/other-countries/Consumer/
currently now checking out another I'd firm home guide
one army Fren using their services but can't into their website
