25 Dec 07- Christmas Day Lunch

Merry Christmas!!

We had our Christmas lunch at Marine Parade---> Waroeng Penyet

They serve ayam penyet which is actually flatten fried chicken with sambal chilli.
The service was not up to par. The service staff took their time to clear the tables and arrange the tables.
3 tables were joined together and a couple was sitting at the last table and the service staff had to look "frantically" for other empty tables for their customers to sit?!
The food came slow too.
BUT... once we started on the food, all was forgiven!
The batter on the chicken was good, not too greasy however it was the super duper delicious sambal chilli that was the star! It was fiery hot!(for someone that is accustomed to eating hot stuff)
Think recently we went to the changi village outlet as well but xin commented that the chilli was not as tongue numbing as the one we had at marine parade although i though it was quite hot too...
Had to eat wall's ice cream to cool things down :)

Early X'mas Dinner at Jack's Place

Early Merry Xmas~!
Went to Eatzi(as known as Jack's Place). Wondered why there changed to Eatzi..
Anyway hehe met up with my darling for lunch at Eastpoint. Running places to makan so we settled for here. Been quite some time since we went to Jack's Place. I still prefer to call it Jack's Place. Here is what we had
Cream of mushroom(hehe chose a mushroomy color)

It came with my set lunch. It tasted abit bland but the garlic bread made up for it. Next was my ribeye. I must comment that the standard went down. The black pepper sauce was very bland and watery. Very disappointing tsk tsk. And the veggies was yucky. The only good part was the pototao with the bacon bits. I missed my steak at Mariner's corner~! Hehe wanted to bring my dear dear to Lawry's Prime rib but not sure whether she can eat with her braces. Never mind next time k darling ~!whhahaha.

Lobster Bisque

Dear ordered this as she just fitted her braces. Not sure whether it was nice but from the looks of it, it should be alright.

Overall rating for this meal: 6/10

Meet up with xin in the morning for bfast again after his night shift--- have become a ritual but guess its coming to an end liao cos school is going to reopen liao! :(

White Carrot Cake with chilli

I personally like the white version but xin prefers the black one----like him!:)
so since i am eating as well, he doesn have a choice but to order the white one.. (i think i was the one who went to order..hmmm..)

His yong tou foo
Looks as though it is not cooked and just having the sauces on top of the food- but i guess xin is real hungry cos he swallowed everything in one BIG gulp...no lah, just that he stopped talking to me and concentrated on his food..another bad habit of his!

And finally ta-thaa..my pork porridge again...since i put on braces, the following dish has been my staple..managed to lose a tiny weeny weight but think put on all of it in Malacca liao :)

15th Dec 07-Phin's Steakhouse

We were at Phin's Steakhouse level 4 of tampines mall!suprisingly, we didn't had any steak that day too much red meat overload i guess!

We both had fish!quite reasonably cooked i guess, since i was there almost 5 months ago!haha and nothing significant that made me wanted to complain.

His Fish and Chips

My Herb Dory Fish (Ah, I remembered!A very small portion was served)

13th Dec- Joaquim Buffet Restaurant

Got to update lots of post after sitting on it for soooooooooooo long!

We were at Joaquim Steamboat Buffet located at suntec city lobby, near the escalator towards marina square.

For 2, we had to pay approximately $28..somewhere near there. As we were there on a weekday, there wasnt much crowd but because of that some of the cooked food stations were not available like the roti prata.

Lets see what we had...we were hungry and it was taking such a long time for the soup to boil...

Each of us had a small pot to cook our food instead of the usual big steamboat whereby everyone placed their food in.
So in our individual soup pot! (We were given a number of choices but in the end we choose chicken stock and tom yam!)

Boiling!!Ready to eat!

Only prawns shells left!

After our breakfast, it was time to set off again! I wanted to go to this shop called "Tan Kim Hock" which sells their local products like cuttlefish, "hong pia" and gula melaka which my mummy had reminded me to buy. We were there and bought quite a number of stuffs.

We had wanted to head back cos there were too much things to lug to our next destination- A place which serves Peranakan food. However, unfortunately,we lost our way so we had to seek help from "Four Seasons" hotel for directions.
